Through thought, to the stars.

Medicine attracts some of the most capable and ambitious people in the country.
Yet the qualities that define exceptional doctors are rarely captured by grades alone.
Curiosity. Empathy. Reflection. Communication. The ability to engage thoughtfully with complex ideas and navigate uncertainty with confidence.
These qualities can be cultivated.
Spartan Academics was founded on the belief that knowledge, mentorship, and opportunity should be accessible to everyone. After achieving a score of 90 in GAMSAT Section II — one of the highest ever by an Australian medical applicant —, I became increasingly aware of how much valuable guidance remains locked behind expensive courses and information barriers. I believe there is a better way.
While Spartan Academics provides mentorship for GAMSAT, CASPER, medical school interviews, and admissions pathways, it is also a platform for sharing ideas, writing, and creative projects. Through freely available resources and personalised guidance, my goal is to help students think more clearly, communicate more effectively, and approach their ambitions with greater confidence.
The purpose is simple: to make meaningful guidance more accessible, while fostering the habits of mind that underpin not only success in medicine, but lifelong growth.

prometheus
Prometheus was written with a simple objective: to make thoughtful, high-quality writing and intellectual exploration freely accessible to everyone.
Although it was born from my own experience preparing for the GAMSAT, this book extends far beyond the confines of any single examination. It is intended for students, professionals, and anyone driven by curiosity — a reader who enjoys grappling with difficult questions, challenging assumptions, and developing the ability to think with greater clarity and depth.
Across ten chapters, Prometheus explores a broad range of complex human issues, from loss, death, identity, and suffering to theology, secularism, morality, justice, technology, inequality, medicine, culture, and the intricate interplay of biological, psychological, and social forces that shape our lives. Rather than presenting definitive answers, each chapter seeks to cultivate meaningful reflection and encourage nuanced conversation about the ideas that define the human experience.
At its heart, the book is not a collection of essay templates or formulaic strategies. Instead, it examines the habits of thought that underpin compelling writing: how to generate original ideas, engage with competing perspectives, construct persuasive arguments, and communicate with both precision and authenticity. Through reflections, conceptual frameworks, practical guidance, and illustrative examples drawn from my own preparation, Prometheus aims to nurture intellectual confidence rather than rote technique.
For GAMSAT candidates, these principles provide a strong foundation for Section II and beyond. For everyone else, they offer an invitation to become a more thoughtful writer, a more discerning reader, and a more reflective participant in the conversations that matter most.
